On match day

If you want a beer and soak up the atmosphere on the day of the match, there are several good options right at the Stadium. We recommend to to be in at staion 2 hours before kickoff.

Sam Platt's (Trafford Wharf Road) always guarantees good atmosphere, lots of singing and lots of people.

Another option is OTSC, the Old Trafford Supporters Club, which is partly owned by Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, David beckham and the rest of The Class of 92 '.
It costs £ 1 in entrance fees donated to local charities. The OTSC is right next to the stadium on Sir Matt Busby Way 99, right by Hotel Football.

If you want to catch the local atmosphere, The Bishop'z Blaze (see below) is the place to go. However, it is extremely popular, so it gets filled quickly - even out front, where just like inside there is full bang on the United songs right up to Kick off.

Hotel Football is also an option. At the top of Hotel Football there is a cozy enclosed roof terrace with artificial grass and tables and great views of Old Trafford and the city. Here it will also be possible to quench the thirst with various beers / cider at reasonable prices.

Inside the stadium

Depending on which section you are in, there is access to buy food / snacks and beer / coffee. The prices are a bit higher than at the pubs, so it is recommended that you eat before enter the stadium. There are many opportunities out front and around the stadium. Primarily fish n 'chips, burgers, etc.

Please note that beer is not allowed in the spectator seats, so they must be consumed in the respective lounges. If your ticket includes lounge access, these are usually open from 2, 5 hours before kick off.

Restaurants in Manchester

Bem Brasil Deansgate Restaurant
Kings Street West, Manchester

A great concept if you love meat. A good restaurant if you are a family on tour or just looking for a solid game of food. You come in and the sweet servants refer you to your table. Afterwards, the salad and the buffet are open, and in it you will find everything the heart desires within the salad and accessories. As for the meat, you get a small piece that has a green side and a red side. When the red side is facing up, you say "no thanks" to meat, and when the green side is facing up, you say "yes thank you" to meat. After serving the buffet, the servants come by with large skewers, where they have all kinds of well-prepared meat. After dinner, enjoy a drink in the restaurant lounge to the tones of Brazilian and other South American music genres.

ABode Hotel and Restaurant
107 Piccadilly, Manchester

If you are looking for a little more luxurious gastronomic experience, you can safely visit Michael Caines restaurant at ABode Hotel. The restaurant has a Michelin star and here you can enjoy a lot of delicious dishes created by local vegetables and meat types. There is no doubt that the best restaurant in Manchester in 2010 is worth a visit. The food is also served in delicious and cozy surroundings, without being too posh and too smart.

Pubs in Manchester

The Bishop Blaize (just off Old Trafford)
Chester Road, Manchester

If you are a hardcore Manchester fan then this place should definitely be visited. Before every match, the atmosphere in here is always at a boiling point. Led by lifelong Manchester United fan Pete Boyle, who sings for all the well-known United songs, the place is transformed into a sea of singing Manchester United fans and sometimes a cloud of draft beer when the songs reach their peak. Pete Boyle has got his own private space on the upper part of the pub, from where he can control the beat. The pub is close to Old Trafford, so you can stay there for about 30 minutes before the match starts, if you have already experienced Old Trafford. You have to remember to be here for a really, really, good time, as the queue to get in quickly becomes 50 meters long.

Gorse Hill
886 Chester Road, Manchester

Another cozy pub on Chester Road close to the stadium. Not as tightly packed as the pub above, but therefore you should not expect to sit down if you arrive an hour and a half before the match starts, because the place will be packed. A great destination if you do not want to stand and shout and get draft beer in the face. At this pub you can buy a delicious pie or various burgers and sandwiches. If you are hungry and played early, a delicious English breakfast is served, as we know it.

Transport from the airport

From Manchester Airport it is extremely easy to get into the city center and the easiest and cheapest way is to take the train directly from the airport. Trains run every 10 minutes and stop at the two central stations in Manchester; Manchester Oxford Road and Manchester Piccadilly. It costs from £ 2.5 to get into town.
It is also possible to take the bus or taxi and cost 4-6 pounds and 40-50 pounds respectively. (Be sure to agree the price with the driver before leaving the airport).
Train tickets can be booked on Raileasy's website.

Transport to Old Trafford

There are many ways to get to Old Trafford from the center of Manchester. From Manchester Piccadilly Station you can take the underground and get off at either Old Trafford Station, Trafford Bar, Exchange Quay or Mediacity UK, all within a 10-minute walk of the stadium.
If you get off at Old Trafford Station, however, you arrive at the stadium via Sir Matt Busby Way, which is recommended for any United fan. From the city it is easiest to take a taxi to the stadium. If you leave well in advance to experience the atmosphere at and around the stadium before kick-off, there is no traffic and you get there for approx. 15 pounds depending on traffic.
