St. James' Park
St James' Park is a football stadium located in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. St James' is the home ground of the Premier League club, Newcastle United. With 52,305 seats, St James' Park is the 8th largest stadium in England. St James' Park has been Newcastle's home ground since 1892.
The first club to play at St James' Park was Newcastle Rangers in 1880. Newcastle Rangers kept moving in and out of the stadium, and it wasn't until 1892 that Newcastle West End took over St James' Park. In that same year, Newcastle West End merged with Newcastle East End to form Newcastle United, and they have played at St James' Park ever since. Since moving to the stadium, Newcastle United have won 4 league titles, 6 FA Cups, and the FA Charity Shield.
Around the stadium, you can see statues of many of Newcastle's great legends, including the legendary manager Bobby Robson, Premier League top scorer Alan Shearer, Jackie Milburn, and Joe Harvey.
Transport to St James' Park
St. James' Park is centrally located in Newcastle upon Tyne, and there are several transportation options to get there. Junctions of Gallowgate, St. James' Boulevard, and Barrack Road are all stations near St James' Park. From Newcastle Central Station, it's only a 10-minute walk.
Metro: If you take the metro there, we would recommend taking the metro to St. James' Metro station.
Train: You can take the train to Newcastle Central Station. However, from there, it's a 10-minute walk to St James' Park.
