The beginning
1892 - The founding years of Liverpool Football Club
The story begins in 1892 - a number that also appears in the club's iconic logo. Anfield originally belonged to local rivals Everton FC until a dispute resulted in the Toffees leaving Anfield to form a new home, Goodison Park. With an empty stadium, local businessman John Houlding decided to create a new football team - Liverpool FC. The rest is history.
